Back to School: Must Haves!

I just returned from vacation so I didn't get a chance to complete a "made-it" this week. So, instead, to ease back into blogging, I thought I'd link-up with Sabra from Teaching with a Touch of Twang for her Must have Monday. I thought I'd share a few "Back to School" must haves....

Okay first up, I have to have Paper Mate Flair pens. Last year, I found them on sale at Best Buy and I was doing a happy dance in the aisle much to my boyfriend's dismay and confusion. These are great for grading papers and then also recording grades! I like them because I can still fit the grades inside the grade box even with my jumbo handwriting. I can't live without these pens! I always look to stock up... I've tried some other "varieties" but Paper Mate is tried and true! I also really like Sharpie pens but not for "grading" they don't stand out enough. Anyone else have a favorite grading pen?

My second must have is my teacher planner. I can't live without my planner. I keep track of my lessons for spelling, reading, writing, and social studies - as well as any meetings, plays, etc. My planner is my world! Some teachers have been trying to talk me into doing digital plans or creating my own planner. But this year... I splurged and bought an Erin Condren teacher planner! I use my planner every single day to keep myself sane and write little notes for next year. I save all my planners... anyone else do this? It's interesting to go back and check out your notes and then it's easy to remember what you did or how it actually went. Besides, Google Calendar - this baby is my new best friend!

Lastly, for school as well as the 5:30 am Boot Camp class I just joined, I couldn't live without my Tervis! I have quite a collection of Tervis Tumblers. My favorite is my Tervis with pink owls from our White Elephant Teacher exchange. They don't leak, sweat, and hold hot and cold beverages... the quality can't be beat! And now they make really cool sports bottles! With a Bed, Bath, and Beyond coupon - they are totally worth the money! Plus, I like having the straw/lid option!
