Five for Friday: 100 Followers Edition!

It's been a very busy week at school and around the blogging community! To capture all the events of the week, I think it's only right to link up with Doodlebug's Teaching for her Five for Friday linky party!

Because my little ol' blog finally reached 100 Followers I'm having a GIVEAWAY! Yippee! I can't believe it! I'm still in awe and shock and I'm so excited! My new Scout teacher bag finally arrived! I really wanted a new bag to help downsize my life and I didn't want to pay a lot of money since we're still on a pay freeze. So, I found a cute Scout bag on clearance and some how it ended up in my shopping cart after a REALLY, REALLY long day at school. I'm in love with my new bag! It's waterproof so it sort of sounds like a Whole Foods grocery bag but it has six pockets on the outside and they are just the perfect size for my water bottle and umbrella. I also have plenty of room for my binders and graded papers but not enough room for 60 writing notebooks - awe shucks!

I finally have guided reading levels for all my students! Yay! I'm so happy to be through all the testing! Now that all my students (and books) are leveled, I began passing out books today based on interest and reading levels. We officially start our clubs next Tuesday but many students had wrapped up their prior novels and were looking for some weekend reads -- I love putting books in 5th grade hands! I'm so excited to start our character reading workshop on Tuesday! I'm so thankful our school decided to use funds for new textbooks on novels this year -- each teacher received 100 something novels in various levels and genres for reading workshop! Talk about library growth!

I went shopping for my #SLANT box this week! I'm very excited about signing up and participating. It's been a lot of fun reading about my partner Kris from I {heart} Teaching and getting to know her through a few emails. I hope I've found some goodies she's forgotten to pick up for herself this year :) No pictures though, it'll ruin the surprise! If you didn't sign up this time, check back in October. The table drawer system is working out beautifully! Look how clean and organized my supply station looks! Wow! All the tables are grabbing the drawers when needed and the rest of the time the table tops are nice and clean... I'm in awe! I love it! Pinspiration at it's best!
